Cards- Cincinnati Show Day 2

Hi All,

We just finished our Loveland, CO weekend and will be heading back. Next weekend, we hit Colorado Springs, CO.

Below are a couple of Christmas cards to get you started thinking Christmas. The color combos are unique and out of the norm. I highlighted the black and red below with touches of green. I used the 3D Lacquer to dot the background and sprinkled Ruby Red, Black, Gold and Evergreen Sparkletts glitters.

This card was stamped with the VersaFine Onyx Black and colored in with cranberry and red markers. I then added leafy green and a darker green for the accents. The background was also highlighted with 3D Lacquer dots and sprinkled with the Gamma Green Sparkletts glitter. I added dots of the 3D Lacquer to the center of the stemmed Poinsettias and sprinkled the Ruby Red Sparkletts glitter.

Cards- Cincinnati Show Day 1

Hi All,

We are having a great time in Loveland, CO. We experienced all kinds of weather including the heat, humidity, rain, wind and some hail. Today is the second day of the show. Come down and see us.

Here is a sweet card I did at the show. I used the caroling Mimi stamp and added the 3D Lacquer and Sparkletts glitter accents on the trim of the hats, ear muffs, hem, and scarf. It is a dimensional card with lots of bling. In the background, I stamped the Holly Vine and added the 3D Lacquer and Evergreen and Ruby Red Sparkletts glitter for rhinestone shine. The layers were with the Bronze, Gold and Red papers. This card was stamped with the Aloe Vera VersaMagic pad and accented with the 3D Lacque, Bronze and Gamma Green Sparkletts glitter for the background. I used the VersaFine Vintage Sepia for the words and doves.

Grapevine Show- Day 4

Hi All,

Here are some of the new poinsettias from the collection. This first card was using the Leafy Wreath, which is not a holiday design, but when you add the poinsettias, you create a festive Christmas wreath.

I stamped the Platinum Brilliance pad on the Eggplant cardstock, added 3D Lacquer and added the Evergreen, Ruby Red and Gold Sparkletts glitter for a dimensional shine.


This background was stamped in the Onyx Black Versafine and colored with markers. I used the Glue pad and stamped the dotted circle for some shine.

I layered the Black Cardstock and Emerald Green papers beneath the poinsettia flower panels.

Grapevine Show- Day 2

Hi All,

We have been in Cinncinati all weekend. We had a wonderful and whirlwind of a time here. We are heading back home and will be packing for Loveland, CO and Colorado Springs, CO, so get ready folks.

I have a couple of posts to put up. I appreciated the feedback from many who attended the show. I loved that you enjoyed the YouTube videos and the blog updates. I am working on editing one and as soon as it's ready, I will have it up. Thanks!

This card was stamped in the Platinum Planet Brilliance and wil the Glue pad with various stamps like the Steam stamp, Circle dots, and new Starlet. I accented with the Eggplant, Silver and Pearl papers. I used the Small Double Circle and the Scallop Tulip with the 1.5 inch scallop punch. All the products are available from http://www.denamidesign.com/ I finished with the Lavender ribbon, Silver Sparklets glitter and Lavender Sparklets glitter.
I used similar colors here. I colored the Poinsettias in the Lilac/Lavender combo.

Sparkle

Hi All,

Here are more new stamps and products. I stamped this card in Versa Fine Onyx Black and added 3D Lacquer and sprinkled the Ruby Red Sparklets Glitter and the Evergreen.

This was stamped with the Platinum Planer Brilliance pad on the Eggplant cardstock. The shimmer from the pad makes the impression pop. I added touches of 3D Lacquer sprinkled with the Silver and Amethyst Sparklets Glitter.

I used the new Charcoal Pearlescent paper, Pearl and Silver for the band.

New Stamps

As many of you know, we just launched our new fall/winter 2009 season of stamps. Below are a couple of projects using them.

This one was stamped with the VersaFine Onyx Black, but you can use the Majectic Blue also. I used the 3D Lacquer for the rain slicker and 3D Lacquer sprinkled with the Fun Fluff for the chick. I then used the 3D Lacquer sprinkled with glitter on the umbrella. Lots of dimension and glitz.
This one was done by one of our designers. It was stamped in Versa Fine and colored in with markers. The Blue Ice Cardstock is used for a subtle shimmer. Great combination of color.

Sneak Peek!

Hi All,

Here I am featuring button cards. I used the ATG gun and made glue dots to attach buttons to the cards. You can make this same card using the Christmas tree stamp.

We have a flurry of cards to upload this time. 'Tis the season of merry card making. These festive cards will cheer any scrooge soul.

Great news, the shopping cart is up and improved. You can start a wish list and even have a registry that people could see. We are madly working on getting a great class season under way with design and finalizing. They are great. Back will be our Blitz 1 and Blitz 2 classes. The classes are second to none and we have loyal return attendees. I will personally be teaching through some stamp shows we attend, so I will keep you posted.

This tree stamp is one stamp. You can cut or punch the circles for various creative purposes. I used the 3D Crystal Lacquer over the stamped and colored image.

This uses the vellum paper.

Here's a classic collection. Use Fun Fluff over the snowmen and mittens for soft texture.

Gifts from the Heart

Hi All,

We are all in the Christmas spirit. We have decorated the place and are working on Christmas cards. I love this time of year. It is cold here, so we are using the wood stove and drinking hot tea and cocoa. Yum! The smell of baking is permeating the house as my daughter loves to bake and I enjoy it myself.

Though this time of year seems to get more hectic, keep in mind the important things. Don't fret over what to buy but who you are buying for. In other words, give gifts from your heart. Create sweet gifts that are handmade. They don't have to take a lot of time, but have the recipient in mind.

Here are some suggestions:

~ for the coffee lover, give a gift certificate for coffee, or better yet, a homemade certificate for a coffee date.

~ for a mom or person with added stressors in their life, a certificate for a massage or spa.

~ for a dad who loves movies, a subscription to Netflix.

~ for a cook, a homemade certificate for a shopping date to buy a new baking/cooking tool in the designated denomination.

~ for a cookie lover, a homemade certificate for a dozen cookies each month for six months. (cookies can be bought at a local bakery)

~ for the fitness enthusiast, a homemade certificate announcing a year-long subscription to a favorite magazine.

~ for a sweets lover, a fun jar full of favorite candy treats. Better yet, fill it with homemade certificates for favorite candies/treats to be redeemed for several months.

~ for a child, a booklet to a favorite fast food restaurant, or several. Mom will love this too.

~ for someone who enjoys quality time with friends, a certificate for a day out with you. Possibly a movie and lunch or just a lunch date.

As you can see, it doesn't take alot of time, just some homemade certificates to put in simply handmade cards filled with love. It will extend the Christmas spirit well beyond the end of the year.

Post your gift ideas and ways to relieve holiday stress.

My biggest thing is to simplify and let go of the idea of a "perfect" Christmas and just enjoy the advent of the season, the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth.
