Card Projects

Hi All,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's celebration. I enjoyed it so much. We had lots of snow here in the NW and now are having some flood zones as a result of the melted snow and rains. We are doing well.

We launched our new shopping cart at the beginning of the year. You can access it from http://www.denamidesign.com We are still loading project ideas, but you can still see projects on this blog. We will be traveling across the US this year via stamp and scrapbooking shows. We love meeting you folks and sharing with you our excitement for stamping. We love what we do and meeting you makes it all worthwhile. If you've never been to a show, come see for yourself hundreds of cards in living color. Pics don't do it justice. You are welcome to bring a camera and capture the projects. It' s worth the trip. In fact, some of you folks have gone across country and made a vacation of it.

We usually have a sold out class at the Stampaway USA show. www.stampawayusa.com You need to sign up early to secure a spot. I won't be doing many classes, but that will be one of the few. By popular demand, we will have our DeNami National Class instructors teaching our fabulous and popular classes around the country. Check the listing to see if one is in your area. You can always request classes at your favorite stamp store and have them book a class. We have top rate instructors, personally endorsed by me and the DeNami team. We love them and we know you will too. Once you take a class, you'll be coming back each season. They will inspire your stamping creativity and give you lots of great ideas for the season. We have a whole new offering of classes this season including our gift/favors class. You can create five creative gifts using stamps. Makes cute and inexpensive treats to give to special people in your life. We have our most popular DeNami Blitz classes. In fact, there are so many cards that we have two Blitzes. They each tout 10 cards each. That's a wild ride of a class. We will also have the Mini Blitz. A smaller version of the Blitz class.

We have had so much fun playing with the stamps. Here are some of the creations I made. All supplies available at http://www.denamidesign.com
I used the VersaMagic Aloe Vera pad for the green dots and the Brilliance Chocolate pad for the polka dot border, since it is on a pearlescent coated blue paper. The double line circle is a new stamp and the "wedding" circle is new. You can stamp different words with the double circle to create a simple and custom card. Lots of great options. Use the Marvy pink and blue scallop punch with the circle and word stamp. I then stamped the wedding cake (petit fours stamp set) with the VersaFine Vintage sepia. Finish it off with the Quickie glue pen and glitter.
These little onsies were stamped on printed papers and cut out for the "fabric" of the onesie. And easy card to do using your scraps. I'm sure you have lots if you have stamped for a while.

Here's the same little polka dot stamp with the VersaMagic Aloe Vera and Sea Breeze. I used punches for the lamb center. I stamped the lamb in the VersaFine Onyx Black and colored with markers. I used the 3D Crystal Clear Lacquer and the Fun Fluff to create a fluffy lamb. Cute!

Here the wedding motifs were embossed in silver. The wedding stamps are part of the petit fours set. Very useful for weddings, wedding showers, bridal showers and girlie cards. I like to use the big diamond ring for girlfriend cards. You can use it with the Mimi line and Mimi accessories stamps. I stamped the dot circle for the punch and "an invitation" circle in the smokey gray VersaFine stamp. A softer look to the usual Black stamping. The iridescent ribbon helped to finish off the frosty and shimmery card.

Here's a fun Mimi card. I love the polka dot. I used the Smokey Gray VersaFine for the dots and the Impress Cherry Pink for the pink dots. Great for an all-occasion card.

Blizzard of Cards

We have a flurry of cards to upload this time. 'Tis the season of merry card making. These festive cards will cheer any scrooge soul.

Great news, the shopping cart is up and improved. You can start a wish list and even have a registry that people could see. You could use the registry to log in your wanted list and shop from that list when you are ready. You can also email a product page to a friend. We are also able to send coupons to our InTouch list. Be sure to sign up for DeNami InTouch. We have an exclusive special for those on our list.

We are working on getting our projects on the site, so stay tuned. Our shopping cart glitch put a fire under us and the cart was a huge priority.

Thanks to all of you who purchased despite the hassle of having to email, fax, call, telegraph, telegram, ups, air mail, snail mail, morse code... a big Thank You.

We are madly working on getting a great class season under way with design and finalizing. They are great. Back will be our Blitz 1 and Blitz 2 classes. We will be updating our class list as schedules are confirmed. Be sure you request a DeNami National Class at your favorite stamp store. They can contact us to book. The classes are second to none and we have loyal return attendees. I will personally be teaching through some stamp shows we attend, so I will keep you posted.

This tree stamp is one stamp. You can cut or punch the circles for various creative purposes. I used the 3D Crystal Lacquer over the stamped and colored image.

This uses the vellum paper.

Here's a classic collection. Use Fun Fluff over the snowmen and mittens for soft texture.

Gifts from the Heart

Hi All,

We are all in the Christmas spirit. We have decorated the place and are working on Christmas cards. I love this time of year. It is cold here, so we are using the wood stove and drinking hot tea and cocoa. Yum! The smell of baking is permeating the house as my daughter loves to bake and I enjoy it myself.

Though this time of year seems to get more hectic, keep in mind the important things. Don't fret over what to buy but who you are buying for. In other words, give gifts from your heart. Create sweet gifts that are handmade. They don't have to take a lot of time, but have the recipient in mind.

Here are some suggestions:

~ for the coffee lover, give a gift certificate for coffee, or better yet, a homemade certificate for a coffee date.

~ for a mom or person with added stressors in their life, a certificate for a massage or spa.

~ for a dad who loves movies, a subscription to Netflix.

~ for a cook, a homemade certificate for a shopping date to buy a new baking/cooking tool in the designated denomination.

~ for a cookie lover, a homemade certificate for a dozen cookies each month for six months. (cookies can be bought at a local bakery)

~ for the fitness enthusiast, a homemade certificate announcing a year-long subscription to a favorite magazine.

~ for a sweets lover, a fun jar full of favorite candy treats. Better yet, fill it with homemade certificates for favorite candies/treats to be redeemed for several months.

~ for a child, a booklet to a favorite fast food restaurant, or several. Mom will love this too.

~ for someone who enjoys quality time with friends, a certificate for a day out with you. Possibly a movie and lunch or just a lunch date.

As you can see, it doesn't take alot of time, just some homemade certificates to put in simply handmade cards filled with love. It will extend the Christmas spirit well beyond the end of the year.

Post your gift ideas and ways to relieve holiday stress.

My biggest thing is to simplify and let go of the idea of a "perfect" Christmas and just enjoy the advent of the season, the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth.

Post Thanksgiving weekend

Hi All,

Happy post Thanksgiving weekend. I hope y'all had a great time with family and friends. It went waaaay too fast. In the beginning, it was going at a relaxed pace, but toward the end it sped up. I love this time of year.

We've been having fun dreaming up card designs with the new stamps. We are actively trying to get our new shopping cart live, but it may take some time. As usual, you can always email or fax in an order. You could just take your order all the way to check out, and then email the page to office@denamidesign.com and follow up with payment info.

Below are some cards I have saved to post. With lots of dog lovers out there, I thought this one would be enjoyed. You use the Fun Fluff on the puppies for the fluffy effect. Super cute!

You can customize the Mimi stamps with photos. It makes for a funny card.

I used the 3D Crystal Lacquer for a shiny truck.
The card has a Vellum paper overlay. Makes a soft and dreamy looking card. I used the 1" and 1 1/8" circle punches for the front.
This is great to give to your friends. How about including a suggestion of a spa date with the card? Maybe a spa gift card? Hmmm.... who wouldn't love that!After suggesting that I might do a tutorial, I received a comment encouraging the idea. Well, I must say that I am making steps in that direction. I love demo-ing, so this would be that to a larger audience.

Hi All,

Happy Thanksgiving! We are so blessed and have much to be grateful for. I am thankful for God, our freedom, my family, our business, shelter, food, friends, warm clothes, transportation, the internet, our phones, and so much more. Some of those things we take for granted that in many places of this world, and even this country, are luxuries. Thank you Lord.

Thank you also, our DeNami supporters, for allowing us to create products for you. We love what we do and because of you, we can keep doing it! You are great.

I received some fun pics I wanted to share. The first being our own placecards we will use tonight for Thanksgiving. My kids created and made them. Even small kids can have fun with stamps! They used the Marvy punches and the Pilgrim chicks with the Versafine Vintage Sepia pad and markers.

Show- Creating Keepsakes- Bellevue, WA

Hi All,

We had a great weekend in the Bellevue, WA at the Creating Keepsakes Show. It was nice being home and seeing familiar faces and introducing stamping to scrapbookers. I love the thrill of showing our stamping techniques and seeing the creativity and imagination blossom as they get excited. Their eyes light up and they are so expressive. I love it!

I met with some long time stampers, some even came from Portland, OR and Vacouver, BC, Canada. I also met a couple of friend's for friends. How fun that was. One of our dear store owners came from Hawaii! I bet it is beautiful there. Also, one of our loyal customers came a long way to visit us, with cookies and chocolate. (Thanks Candi!) Gary was especially enjoying the treats. Come to think of it, those chocolates never made it home.

We are winding down the year, but are fast at work getting the new Spring/Summer line ready for the new year. I was able to use some of your wish list submissions. So stay tuned and see... I have normally worked behind the eight ball by designing right up to the last possible moment. My organized assistant, namely my daughter, suggested I continue to let the creative juices run and design for next year's Christmas. What a concept! Imagine designing Christmas around the winter. I must say that it is hard to get inspired for Christmas during summer.

We are also working on updating our shopping cart. For those of you on our email list, DeNami InTouch, we wanted to offer coupons for purchases. Also, for those who visit us at the shows, we want to offer coupons for you to visit our website. It's coming soon. We are strong at graphics and design, but a bit lacking in shopping cart/computer language. We can't wait for it to go live. I may give an update as I have it. In the meantime, we will continue to update our current website with the latest in DeNami products.
