Cards- Puyallup Show

Hi All,

Some of you have been waiting and waiting for my blog update. I have been working diligently on the next season's stamp collection, so unfortunately, the blog has been on hold. We have actively on the stamp tour to boot. So card ideas are still flowing, it's just getting backlogged here.

Here is the latest card ideas from the Puyallup show. My daughter and fellow demonstrator did a fabulous job creating beautiful cards and demo-ing techniques. Her cards are featured below.
She fluffed these monkeys with the 3 D Lacquer and Fun Fluff.

This was a simple, but colorful card.

I had fun playing with our new clear boxes. We have two sizes. This is the larger of the two. I used the tulip border stamp and VersaFine Black Onyx ink pad with Tombow markers. Stamp the tulips on white address labels and wrap around the Hershey's Nugget chocolates.

I used the daisy from the Rosevine Collection Petit fours for this gift box of candies. I stamped the scalloped solid rectangle in the VersaMagic Sea Breeze, VersaMagic Aloe Vera, and Brilliance Orchid pad for the background. I then stamped the daisy in the VersaFine Vintage Sepia and colored in with Tombow Markers on the white address labels.

Update

Hi All,

We just returned from Sacramento doing the Original Rubber Stamp Convention. It was a one day show and it was buzzing with creative activity. It was loads of fun.

We are gearing up for our hometown show in Puyallup, WA. Come visit us there to see the great samples and projects. The whole family will be there. My boys are even making cards for sale. Support their cause!

I have a correction to make for the April 29 post. It was actually Jen who made the boxes. Here is her blog http://jen-lowe-designs.blogspot.com/2009/04/my-first-wedding-cake.html She had another project here with our Paisley papers. http://jen-lowe-designs.blogspot.com/2009/04/more-boxes-and-cards.html
My apologies to Jen. You did a great job and credit needs to be given where credit is due. Keep up the good work!

I plan to post some pics. So keep posted.

Cards Akron Show Day 7

Hi All,

Here's a Mother's Day card idea. This is the cover of a pop-up card. I used the Wedding petit fours stamp set for the background, along with the Circle Dot stamp. The Circle Dot stamp was stamped with the Glue Pad and glittered. I used the Mini Polka Dot stamp in the Versa Magic in Aloe Vera. The band was stamped with the Mini Flower and Leafy Vine Swirl.
Here is the inside. This is the 3 Columns pop-up card kit. I used the Elegant Spring Flowers for the "garden". I used the same stamps I used on the cover of the card. You can change the sentiment and create this into a Thank you card, Thinking of You card or Wedding.

Cards Akron Show Day 6

Hi All,

This is a vellum card. It has such a delicate look to it. The style is great for weddings, Mother's Day, showers, babies, etc. Just stamp a background with the VersaMagic Sea Breeze and Aloe Vera on white cardstock. I used the Mini Polka Dot. Then on the White Vellum paper, stamp the Solid Scallop Dot Rectangle in various colors. I used the Sea Breeze, Aloe Vera and Brilliance Orchid. I heat set it. I then turned it over and embossed the Elegant Spring Flowers and Thanks a Bunch stamp using the VersaMark and sprinkled on the Silver Embossing Powder and melted it until it was smooth and shiny. I turned it back around to the rectangle side and colored in the flowers. I used the ATG adhesive gun and applied the adhesive to the rectangles. I then took another vellum paper and overlaid the polka dotted card. I cut out the embossed rectangles and placed them on the overlay. I used Quickie glue and Lime Sherbet Sparkletts for the shimmer. Add a bow for the finishing touch!

This is a variation of the card.

I stamped my own background for this card. I enjoyed using the Thank You circle stamp as a decorative touch. Notice the Mini Polka Dot in the background. I then used the Thank You circle stamp and stamped the Chickie with Flower stamp. I Fun Fluffed the little guy using 3D Lacquer and Fun Fluff. I also used the 3D Lacquer and glitter for a dimensional effect on the flowers. I used the 1 1/2 inch MV-02 Marvy Punch.

Cards Akron Show Day 5

Hi All,

We are heading out from a good show in Milwaukee, WI. The weather was nice and the folks nicer. Our next stop... Sacramento, CA. California, here we come!

This next card is really bright and cheerful. It has touches of pearlescent papers and shimmer. I used the Wedding petit fours stamp set to create this background. I also used the Mini Polka Dot in the Sea Breeze Versa Magic and Dot Circle stamp with the Glue Pad and Blue Ice Sparkletts glitter. This was a fun card to do. I experimented with color and came up with this. I used the Eggplant cardstock and Platinum Brilliance for the background. I used the Flower Vine Swirl, Leaf Vine Swirl and Mini Flower for the background. I then added the 3D Lacquer for tiny dots and sprinkled Ruby Red Sparkletts and Gamma Green Sparkletts glitter. It looked like rhinestones since the lacquer were tiny little balls.

This card uses the Sage cardstock with the same vine stamps for the background. I used the eggplant cardstock for the accents. It was fun layering the nesting stamps to create this die cut center.

Cards Akron Show Day 4

Hi All,

Here are more cards to celebrate the freshness of spring. I stamped this background using the Easter petif fours stamp set. I stamped the mini polka dot with Aloe Vera Versa Magic and the circle dot with the Versa Fine Vintage Sepia. I stamped the circle dot stamp with the Vintage Sepia and then stamped the scallop tulip on another panel and punched it out with the one inch MV-01 Marvy Punch to create a dimensional effect. I added lots of glittery touches with the Quickie glue pen and the Sparkletts glitter. I stamped the dot wreath with the Sea Breeze Versa Magic pad and Glue pad for the background. I sprinkled it with the Blue Ice Sparkletts.
I used the double circl and Birthday Wishes stamps for the focal point. I also stamped the cake using the Wedding Petit Fours stamp set. I punched the panels out with the Blue MV-03 punch and the Pink MV-04 for the layered effects.

Here is the inside of the birthday card. This is using the 3 Tiered pop-up card kit and adding lots of cakes stamped and cut out.

Cards Akron Show Day 3

Hi All,

Here are more cards. I enjoyed experimenting with color on this filigree card. I stamped the VersaFine Vintage Sepia on our brown cardstock and added 3D Lacquer and Bronze glitter for the dimensional glitz. I then added touches of the lacquer with the Misty Blue Sparkletts glitter. I used the Rosevine Petit Fours set to create this wreath card. I stamped the daisy in a circle and then stamped the leaf stamp as a filler in the Spanish Moss VersaFine pad.

I used the daisy from the set, the mini polda dot and the dotted vine from the Vine Trifles stamp set to make the background. The polka dot was stamped with the Sea Breeze Versa Magic. I stamped the wreath on the white cardstock and layered the Blue Ice cardstock and Pearl cardstock to frame it in. I used the baby blue sheer ribbon using a "glue dot" made with the ATG gun. I just rolled up a dot with the ATG tape dispenser. Works great and very tacky, too. You can get those supplies here http://www.denamidesign.com/

Here's a sweet card using the little chickie with flower. I stamped the background with the mini polka dot and Aloe Vera Versa Magic pad. I also stamped the daisy from the Rosevine Petit Fours stamp set that I used with the card above. I stamped the circle dot stamp with the glue pad and added the Lime Sherbet Sparkletts glitter to add shine. The Chickie with Flower fits well in the circle dot stamp. You then punch out with the Yellow MV02 Marvy Punch. After coloring with markers, I put the 3D Lacquer and Fun Fluff on the chickies, added lacquer on the flower and leaf, then sprinkled with the Strawberry Freeze Sparkletts on the flower and the Lime Sherbet Sparkletts on the leaf. Cute, cute, cute! This will cheer anyone up.

Cards Akron Show Day 2

Hi All,

Mother's Day is just around the corner. I had fun making a cheerful card for the occasion. What better than give your Mom a garden patch flowers and one that does not need to be watered. This is using the 3 columns pop-up card kit from DeNami Design. You can get it here http://www.denamidesign.com/
This is the cover I made for the card. You can just make this cover as your actual card if you prefer. I used the Eggplant cardstock and the Platinum Brilliance ink pad. I then used the 3D Lacquer on the vine leaves and sprinkled it with the Amethyst Sparkletts glitter. It gave it a dimensional effect that was stunning.
I stamped the white band with the same vine stamp in the Imperial Purple VersFine pad and added the same Amethyst Sparkletts glitter. I also added dots of 3D Lacquer and sprinkled the Silver Sparkletts and then did dot for the Green Sparkletts glitter.
I stamped the circle stamps with the circle sentiments in the Imperial Purple VersaFine. I used the Pink MV-04 Marvy Punch and the Giga MV-05 Marvy Punch with the Pearl Cardstock for the outer circle.

This was a really sweet card. I stamped the same vine stamp as the Mother's Day card above to create the background. I used the Sea Breeze VersaMagic pad and then added the 3 D Lacquer on the leaves and sprinkled with the Blue Ice Sparkletts glitter. I layered the band with the Blue Ice cardstock, the Pearl cardstock and the Bronze cardstock to create the band. I stamped the white band with the Leafy Sprig, which is part of the same collection, and stamped some in the Sea Breeze and glue pad then sprinkled the Blue ice Sparkletts. This allowed it to look different than the background.
I stamped the Double ring and Circle sentiments "wedding" in Onyx Black VersaFine. I then used the Wedding petit fours for the focal design. I then colored in with markers and added glitter with the Quickie glue pen and Sparkletts. I topped this with the Iridescent edge ribbon.

This is a cheerful card using the new little polka dot stamp. I then used the Large Swirl background with the Glue pad and Ruby Red glitter. I then layered the band with black, red and white. I stamped the white band with the polka dot border.
I stamped the circle dot stamp and various ladybugs with the VersaFine Onyx Black pad and colored in with markers. I finished it off with the 3D Lacquer for the glossy touch.
Notice the little "charms" on the bow. I used the one inch punch and stamped the tiny ladybug using the "Bitty Bugs" petit fours set. You can use the various bitty bugs for a background along with the little polka dot to create a variation for the background. Stamp on a white cardstock and color in for more contrast.

I have more cards to upload, so stay tuned!
